Diesel Retrofits

Tier 3

The passages of the Clean Air Act in 1972, EPA has adopted a series of proposals to reduce emissions from light duty automobiles and trucks. These emissions standards has been referred to “Tiers.” EPA is planning to propose a new Tier of regulation, the so called Tier 3 rule, that will propose new tail pipe standards for light duty vehicles. The new proposal is likely to require oil refiners to reduce the sulfur content gasoline. ECTA has sponsored a study prepared by Navigant Economics to analyze the economic impact of the anticipated EPA Tier 3 proposal.
